TechFlow reported, according to Blockworks, that Ethereum client developers confirmed on Thursday that the anticipated Dencun upgrade will not be implemented via a network hard fork before the end of 2023.
Last month, as the Ethereum Holesky testnet launch fell behind schedule, consensus emerged that completing the Dencun upgrade before December was unlikely.
Potuz, an anonymous Prysm developer, stated during today's core developer call, "There is no way we are forking mainnet in 2023." He pointed out that "over the past few months, all 10 developer networks (devnets) that have launched test upgrades so far have encountered consistent consensus issues," adding that "none have progressed smoothly."
