TechFlow news: FTX is seeking to learn details about its previous payments totaling millions of dollars to the AI safety organization Center for AI Safety (CAIS).
In bankruptcy court filings on October 25, FTX lawyers stated that FTX provided $6.5 million to CAIS between May and September 2022, prior to the exchange's bankruptcy announcement.
FTX is requesting court approval to issue subpoenas to determine whether CAIS accepted payments, funds, communications from FTX and its affiliated companies, as well as former executives, or entered into related agreements.
FTX claims CAIS has refused to provide financial information related to these payments. CAIS has not yet commented.
