TechFlow news — According to The New York Times, U.S. government officials have been closely monitoring certain cryptocurrency mining operations linked to China.
One of the sites under surveillance is a crypto mining facility in Wyoming, located near a Microsoft data center that supports some Pentagon operations.
In a report regarding this operation, Microsoft stated: "There is no direct evidence indicating malicious activity by this entity. However, until further evidence emerges, we consider the industrial-scale computing power used for cryptocurrency mining, combined with the presence of an unspecified number of Chinese nationals near both a Microsoft data center and one of the three strategic missile bases in the United States, could pose a significant threat."
