TechFlow news: Christine Kim, Vice President of Research at Galaxy, summarized this week's Ethereum developer call, where developers discussed emerging issues and bugs on Devnet 9 and held an extensive debate on the benefits of EOF.
The meeting highlighted that Devnet 9 still requires significant testing. In addition to resolving various EL/CL combinations, developers are intensifying efforts to test MEV-Boost.
Devnet 9 currently has only one relay and block builder, capable of handling regular transactions but not yet blob transactions;
Four key points EF's testing team must address before launching Devnet 10: updating the trusted setup files for the EIP-4844 KZG ceremony, improving visibility of blob transactions, MEV pipeline, and network stability.
Kim noted that Dencun is a complex upgrade. Furthermore, since The Merge, Ethereum's upgrade protocol has become increasingly intricate. This implies that testing will take time. Developers might even decide to introduce another devnet after Devnet 10 before proceeding to public testnets.
Christine Kim emphasized that as the protocol grows more complex, it is natural and expected for Ethereum's upgrade pace to slow down, helping mitigate the likelihood of bugs and technical failures introduced by new code and features.
