TechFlow news, according to official announcements, Tether has appointed Paolo Ardoino as its new Chief Executive Officer. Ardoino will succeed Jean-Louis van der Velde (JL) starting December 2023, who will continue serving as CEO of Bitfinex.
Ardoino will continue to serve as Chief Technology Officer at Bitfinex and Chief Strategy Officer at Holepunch.
Notably, Ardoino began his journey in the cryptocurrency industry in 2014 when he joined Bitfinex. At Bitfinex, Ardoino played a key role in enhancing the platform's Bitcoin trading capabilities and earned recognition for his deep understanding of blockchain technology.
In 2017, Ardoino became Chief Technology Officer at Tether, one of the leading stablecoin providers. At Tether, he continued to demonstrate outstanding innovation, driving advancements and business expansion. The strategies he co-led resulted in significant growth in Tether's market share and market capitalization, which now stands at $83 billion, solidifying Tether’s position as a dominant force in the global stablecoin sector.
