TechFlow news — On September 22, ConsenSys announced it will gradually deprecate the Web3 development tools Truffle and Ganache, and instead empower developers to build DApps using MetaMask tools such as Snaps and SDK. ConsenSys stated that demand for its Infura, MetaMask Snaps, and SDK products has surged, and it will now refocus the Truffle team on scaling these offerings and helping developers build with MetaMask.
ConsenSys will collaborate with HardHat to ensure a smooth transition for current users, supporting Truffle and Ganache users in migrating to HardHat, Foundry, and other ecosystem tools such as Remix, Thirdweb, and OpenZeppelin.
Starting December 20, 2023, the Truffle and Ganache repositories will remain available as public archives. This provides developers approximately 90 days to migrate to HardHat and alternative solutions.
