TechFlow reported, according to The Block, Orb Technology, the developer of Orb—a web3 social application built on Lens Protocol—has announced the completion of a $2.3 million pre-seed funding round. Investors in this round include Superscrypt, LD Capital, Founders, Inc., Foresight Ventures, Aave Companies, Stani Kulechov, founder of Lens Protocol, and Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon.
Orb plans to develop new on-chain social experiences that integrate commerce, content, and communication. Siren stated the company also intends to expand its current team of fewer than 10 members by primarily hiring mobile developers and designers.
Kimmo Siren, co-founder of Orb, said: "Orb is the first application within the Lens ecosystem to raise funds, creating momentum for a new wave of applications based on web3 technology."
Orb said it has received over 400 requests to create new communities, with its existing community already comprising more than 5,000 users who have published over 15,000 posts and generated more than 150,000 reactions within the community.
