TechFlow news — On September 21, according to reports from the Hong Kong Post, the Hong Kong Police provided an update on the JPEX case. On Wednesday (the 20th), three more men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and are currently in custody for questioning. So far, a total of 11 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. As of 5:00 PM on September 20, 2023, police have received reports from 2,086 victims, involving approximately HK$1.3 billion. Police stated that investigations are ongoing and further arrests cannot be ruled out.
In addition, according to aastocks, it was reported late last night that the Hong Kong Police have issued instructions to local telecommunications service providers to block access to the JPEX mobile application and website. A late-night statement released by JPEX confirmed and opposed this action.
