TechFlow news: Taiko, an Ethereum Layer 2 network based on zkRollup, has announced the launch of its Alpha-5 testnet Jólnir, introducing a new proposal and proof mechanism inspired by Proposer-Builder Separation (PBS).
In Jólnir, Proposers must obtain a bond from Provers to propose a block. Provers are required to deposit some TTKOj tokens to acquire a bond. If a Prover successfully proves the assigned block within the designated proof time window, they will get their bond back and retain the pre-paid fee received off-chain from the proposer.
TTKOj has already been distributed to Proposers and Provers on the Alpha1 and Alpha2 testnets (2.5 TTKOj per address). Proposers and Provers on the Alpha3 and Alpha4 testnets will also receive TTKOj soon.
In addition, Taiko will no longer support Eldfell L3. For Grímsvötn L2, it will remain operational until October 31 to support any project migration.
