TechFlow reports, according to Wu Blockchain, that due to a Trojan planted by a former employee, the mnemonic phrases or private keys of some iToken (formerly Huobi Wallet) users may have been leaked.
According to user feedback, this week iToken system alerted users that certain wallet addresses were at security risk. A security agency submitted a request for asset protection executed by Refundyourcoins, transferring funds from affected user addresses to secure addresses. Refundyourcoins will launch a recovery feature to allow users to reclaim their assets, covering BTC, ETH, TRX, and XRP blockchains.
HTX responded to Wu Blockchain stating it has no connection with Huobi HTX. The incident involved a former employee's personal act prior to the acquisition, involving planting malware to steal users' mnemonics and private keys, which is now under investigation. HTX will actively cooperate in combating the crime.
