TechFlow — Amboss, a lightning network data analytics provider, has launched Hydro, a subscription-based Bitcoin Layer 2 automated liquidity procurement solution.
Hydro aims to enable businesses to receive payments over the Lightning Network without complex channel management or reliance on centralized custodial intermediaries. According to Amboss, the solution allows users to automatically source liquidity to their Lightning nodes from decentralized sources as needed, with fees starting at an initial setup rate of 3.5% and transaction fees as low as 0.003%.
Hydro is powered by Magma, Amboss’s marketplace for buying and selling Lightning channels, which sources liquidity from the open market. Sellers can earn Bitcoin yields by providing liquidity to Magma, opening Lightning channels to online stores, wallets, and other Lightning users, all without the custodial risks associated with centralized yield-generation platforms.
