TechFlow news, according to Cointelegraph, Sebastien Borget, co-founder and chief operating officer of The Sandbox, said in an interview that the metaverse may feel "dead" for users living in the United States, but the industry is thriving across Asia, with Hong Kong and South Korea being the two largest markets, followed by Japan.
Meanwhile, Borget noted that he will soon announce Lion City on stage at Singapore's Token 2049—an upcoming new community within The Sandbox metaverse composed of 512 virtual land parcels, designed to showcase Singaporean culture through collaborations with multiple global brands. Additionally, the introduction of dynamic NFTs allows creators to change metadata and asset appearances.
Borget also mentioned Apple’s recently launched Vision Pro augmented reality headset, calling it a significant step forward for the metaverse industry, as extended reality capabilities make digital assets appear as real as physical objects within real-world environments.
Finally, Borget concluded that there is no right or wrong way for the metaverse industry to drive broad Web3 adoption. While traditional gaming companies offer high-quality Web2 games, metaverse platforms like The Sandbox provide users with entirely new experiences distinct from conventional gaming.
