TechFlow news, FTX's former CEO Sam Bankman-Fried may face scrutiny from prosecutors during his trial starting next month over the FTX collapse and its Super Bowl advertisements. Lawyers on both sides are arguing about which evidence can be used in the upcoming trial. In a filing, the U.S. Department of Justice stated that Bankman-Fried wants to "exclude any evidence regarding the bankruptcies of FTX and Alameda, as well as the defendant’s resignation from his role as CEO of FTX."
SBF's attorneys have also rejected the prosecutors' request to admit certain FTX advertisement videos featuring celebrities such as Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen, and Larry David. SBF's legal team argued that this evidence would confuse the jury, while prosecutors countered: "The actual advertising materials and public statements authorized by the defendant make no such distinction: ads featuring celebrities described 'FTX' as 'a safe, simple way to get into crypto' and showed customers using devices bearing the FTX rather than FTX.US logo."
