TechFlow news — Web3 domain project D3 Global has raised $5 million in a seed funding round led by Shima Capital, with participation from Arthur Hayes’ Maelstrom, Lightshift, Dispersion Capital, VentureSouq, Infinite Capital, and Paul Stahura, founder of Identity Digital.
D3 Global claims to possess "patent-pending technology" designed to enhance interoperability between Web2 and Web3, while increasing utility and security. The company plans to "apply for and acquire new top-level domains during ICANN’s upcoming application window to deliver secure identities natively supported across all browsers and devices," referring to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which oversees top-level domains. D3 has also launched an on-chain marketplace for domains, tokenizing over 1,000 top-level domains.
