TechFlow news — The U.S. Department of Justice has stated that all witnesses proposed by FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) should be disqualified, arguing that their disclosure filings are inadequate, their expertise could be misleading, or their intended testimony may be irrelevant. SBF's proposed witnesses include Lawrence Akk, Thomas Bishop, Joseph Pimbley, Brian Kim, Bradley Smith, and Andrew Di Wu. Fees disclosed for these witnesses range from $400 to $1,200 per hour.
Meanwhile, SBF's legal team seeks to exclude Peter Easton, a financial analysis expert proposed by the prosecution, claiming under established rules that his testimony might not be admissible. These filings were submitted on Monday as part of so-called Daubert motions (motions to exclude expert witness evidence), outlining each side's arguments for why certain witnesses should not be allowed to testify when SBF stands trial in over a month on multiple charges of fraud and conspiracy.
