TechFlow news: Coinbase has released a full decentralization plan for Base, aiming to ensure that no single entity controls Base through multiple technical upgrades.
The Base core team stated it is committed to achieving network decentralization by implementing fraud proofs and utilizing diverse client software to maintain a censorship-resistant network, moving away from the current phase where Coinbase is the sole operator of the Base network sequencer. Coinbase will collaborate with the decentralized autonomous organization Optimism Collective and OP Labs to transition Base—part of the Optimism OP Stack—to full decentralization. However, the team has not yet provided a specific timeline for this transition.
