TechFlow news: Web3 startup Rarimo has launched a "Proof-of-Personhood plugin" to help blockchain applications distinguish real users from AI bots.
Amid growing AI proliferation that exacerbates abuse and bot attacks on Web3 applications and services, Rarimo believes proof-of-personhood solutions are critical for establishing trust in digital spaces and communities.
Rarimo's new tool requires users to verify they are human before gaining access to digital identity services such as Unstoppable Domains, Gitcoin Passport, and Civic.
Lasha Antadze, co-founder of Rarify Labs—the company behind Rarimo—said the advancement of AI has not only made robust online credentials urgently necessary but also portable identities essential for innovations like on-chain gaming and decentralized social media.
Bot identification has long been seen as an urgent issue for traditional social platforms like Facebook and Twitter. Web3 builders aim to address this problem to enhance trust and transparency in online interactions.
