TechFlow news — U.S. federal Judge Kaplan has approved Sam Bankman-Fried's request to meet with his lawyers tomorrow to prepare defense materials. Last week, SBF's legal team requested permission for him to access two internet-connected laptops and two "mobile WiFi devices" each business day from a conference room at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, aiming to be ready for his defense appearance scheduled on August 22, 2023.
As of 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 21, the judge had not yet ruled on the defense team's application for daily visitation rights, but did rule that SBF may meet with his attorneys at the U.S. Marshals Service attorney room from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday Eastern Time.
