TechFlow reports that Ethereum core developers plan to launch a new testnet called Holesky next month, which will provide an abundant supply of test ether and improve the developer testing experience.
Testnets offer developers a simulated blockchain environment for testing and debugging applications before deploying on the mainnet. Ethereum currently operates two primary testnets: Goerli and Sepolia. However, Goerli is expected to be phased out soon, paving the way for the introduction of Holesky.
The Holesky testnet plans to distribute over 1 billion test ETH.
