TechFlow news: Canadian law enforcement agencies have begun using specialized analysis software, Chainalysis Reactor, to track cryptocurrencies during investigations into cybercrime.
The program helps trace cryptocurrencies from their source all the way to when they are deposited into exchanges. Once a platform is identified through tracking, police can request information about account holders and transaction data to see where the cryptocurrency was sent beyond the exchange.
Law enforcement now has the capability to track blockchain transactions, identify suspects, and determine where funds are being held.
