TechFlow News — LSD protocol Puffer Finance announced a $5.5 million seed round led by Lemniscap and Lightspeed Faction, with participation from Brevan Howard Digital, Bankless Ventures, Animoca Ventures, Kucoin Ventures, DACM, LBK, SNZ, Canonical Crypto, and community funds including 33DAO, WAGMI33, and Concave. Angel investors include Anand Iyer (Partner at Lightspeed), Sreeram Kannan (Founder of Eigen Layer), Frederick Allen (Head of Staking at Coinbase), Suichi (Co-founder of F2pool and Cobo), Mr. Block (Core Contributor to Curve), Ramble (President of North American Blockchain Association), Calvin Liu (Chief Strategy Officer at Eigen Layer), Richard Malone (Chief Business Officer at Obol), and Ladislaus von Daniels (Staking community leader).
The funding will support further development of Puffer Finance’s open-source project "Secure-Signer," designed to prevent validator slashing during the validation process. The project previously received a $120,000 grant from the Ethereum Foundation and advisory support from core researcher Justin Drake. Additionally, Puffer Finance is building a permissionless staking pool that reduces the entry barrier for solo validators from 32 ETH to just 2 ETH, significantly improving capital efficiency.
Last June, Puffer Finance raised a $650,000 pre-seed round led by Jump Crypto, with participation from Arcanum Capital and IoTeX.
