TechFlow news — According to Bloomberg, Yoann Turpin, co-founder of cryptocurrency market maker Wintermute, said in an interview that he will officially leave London within months, and around 4% of the company’s approximately 85 employees will relocate to Singapore to develop its derivatives business.
“We are focusing more on Asia. Having me, as the Asia-based co-founder, drive this forward sends a strong signal,” Turpin said.
Wintermute established its office in Singapore in 2021, making it the company’s second location after London. Turpin revealed that if the firm decides to set up another base, the third one could be in Dubai, a jurisdiction actively seeking to attract cryptocurrency businesses.
The company reportedly achieved $1.5 trillion in trading volume and generated $1.05 billion in revenue during the digital asset bull market fueled by central banks’ ultra-loose monetary policies.
