TechFlow reported, according to official information, recently, community developers of TRON initiated a proposal to enable the TVM PUSH0 instruction, with the core focus on Ethereum EIP-3855 compatibility. The proposal introduces a new virtual machine instruction named PUSH0 on TRON to reduce gas costs for smart contract transactions.
As part of Ethereum's Shanghai upgrade, Ethereum EIP-3855 was activated on its mainnet on April 12. If this proposal is approved, it will ensure compatibility between TRON and Ethereum at the virtual machine level, while also reducing the future usage cost of smart contracts on TRON.
It is understood that earlier this month, TRON released an upgraded version of its mainnet—GreatVoyage (GreatVoyage) v4.7.2 (Periander). This latest version introduces multiple governance proposals and key updates, including not only Ethereum EIP-3855 compatibility but also significantly enhanced flexibility of the Stake 2.0 staking system, optimized smart contract calling access interfaces, and a comprehensive upgrade of the P2P network module.
