TechFlow reports that Ethereum scaling project AltLayer will leverage the data availability (DA) layer of modular blockchain Celestia to address data availability issues and verify Rollup states in a trust-minimized manner.
As part of the integration, AltLayer will retrieve chain data from Rollups, compress it, and upload it to the Celestia network. This will enable AltLayer to fully reconstruct Rollup states—a capability critical in the following scenarios:

Allowing Rollups to resume operations in the event of catastrophic incidents causing node operators to go offline indefinitely;

Ensuring that any challenger wishing to contest fraudulent activity on-chain cannot be censored by malicious nodes who might refuse or return invalid responses to queries, as challengers will be able to reconstruct the chain and generate fraud proofs independently.
