TechFlow news, according to PeckShieldAlert statistics, there were over 395 major hacking incidents in the Web3 sector during the first half of 2023, with 386 related to DeFi (decentralized finance), resulting in approximately $479.4 million in losses. Among these attacks, the top 10 hackers stole a total of $378.3 million (accounting for 79% of total losses).
Among the 386 DeFi hacking incidents, the top three attack vectors were logic errors (46%), oracle manipulation (15%), and privilege exposure (14%), with 71% of the attacks leveraging flash loans.
In addition, during the first half of 2023, more than 10 public blockchains suffered hacks, with Ethereum experiencing the largest loss, approximately $287 million.
