TechFlow reports that zkSync has updated the distribution details of its previous experimental NFT project on Twitter, responding to community concerns. The project recently distributed NFTs to the first 10,000 recipients among 179,365 eligible community members.
zkSync stated that the eligibility criterion for NFT airdrop addresses was having interacted with at least one of the top 100 zkSync NFT collections. Based on this, they selected 10,000 addresses and prepared for bulk distribution. However, due to sorting reasons, most of the initial batch of addresses started with "0x0".
Since the selection was automated, generating a list containing all 179,365 qualified community members was random from zkSync's perspective. Nevertheless, zkSync acknowledged that using the term "random" to describe the initial distribution batch was inaccurate and apologized for the resulting confusion.
zkSync said it will restart distribution of the LIBERTAS OMNIBUS project in the coming days and weeks, and will conduct an IRL minting test during this week's EthCC event in Paris.
Yesterday, zkSync responded to community concerns about insufficient "randomness" in the airdrop, stating that the airdrop process was fully transparent, and that recipients were indeed the first 10,000 qualified community members. The remaining 169,000 community members still have the opportunity to receive the LIBERTAS OMNIBUS NFT after Paris ETHCC.
