TechFlow reported, according to Cointelegraph, that due to rising demand driven by artificial intelligence and high-performance computing, North American Bitcoin mining company Hut8 has relocated 6,400 stranded mining machines from its idle site in North Bay, Ontario, to Texas, and intends to bring the stranded equipment back online.
The company expects this batch of miners to become operational by the end of July 2023, delivering 600 PH/s of operating capacity, which will increase Hut8's total installed hash rate to 3.2 EH/s.
