TechFlow news — Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms has announced an official release stating that they have ordered a total of 33,280 latest-generation Bitcoin mining machines from manufacturer MicroBT, valued at $162.9 million, or approximately $21.5 per terahash (T). According to the agreement, delivery of these new miners will begin in December 2023, with deployment planned to start in the first quarter of 2024.
Once the full deployment of the 33,280 ordered miners is completed by mid-2024, Riot’s self-mining computing power capacity is expected to increase to 20.1 EH/s. Additionally, the agreement includes an option to purchase up to 66,560 more miners under the same terms.
