TechFlow news: Recently, a Twitter user named zhouzhou drew attention to a potential bug in the cross-chain bridge developed by the Stargate community, pointing out that it might lead to arbitrage issues. To address this problem, the Stargate community has proposed a design for EqReward and requested the removal of rebalancing transfer discounts, aiming to reduce protocol fees paid (keeping protocol fees for all transfers at 6–10 bps).
Additionally, the proposal includes an update to feelibrary so that the maximum eqReward allocated equals the maximum protocol fee (6–10 bps) on that route. This means users performing rebalancing transfers will no longer receive extra rewards, but also won't incur additional charges.
These updates will not have a material impact on the core Stargate protocol.
By modifying feelibrary to refund fees instead of providing rewards, users will no longer be able to claim extra eqRewards, allowing the protocol to retain more eqRewards and incentivize continuous balancing within Stargate.
The proposal launched on May 28 at 15:13 and will conclude on May 31 at 15:13, having already received 92.6% support.
