TechFlow news — SlowMist's Chief Information Security Officer 23pds warned on X: "WorldCoin has recently gained popularity, but scams are emerging alongside it. Since WorldCoin requires iris verification, many farmers resort to purchasing pre-verified Gmail accounts. This is where the scam occurs. Farmers buy these verified Gmail accounts with provided usernames and passwords, then log in to WorldCoin, deposit funds, and start farming. However, WorldCoin’s design automatically backs up private keys as plain-text TXT files in the Google Drive associated with the Gmail account. Herein lies the trap: sellers retain control over the Gmail account through methods such as email forwarding or authorized Key client logins. As a result, sellers can later access the farmer’s account and Gmail to steal their assets and cryptocurrency."
