TechFlow news on April 7: Eden Au, Research Head at The Block, stated, "A project within the zkSync ecosystem raised 921 ETH through a token sale, but the funds would be permanently locked in the smart contract. The transfer() function works on Ethereum and other EVM chains, but not on zkSync."
In response, zkSync said, "The funds are safe. We have identified an elegant solution to unlock the contract. Additionally, Era is not EVM-equivalent—this was a deliberate design decision involving specific trade-offs and advantages. This issue can be avoided by following best practices."
