TechFlow news — According to CoinDesk, during a Thursday call with community members, MakerDAO founder Rune Christensen said that MakerDAO should rebrand its stablecoin DAI to make it more understandable for "ordinary people." Christensen stated in the discussion that poor branding could hinder the growth of the protocol's decentralization roadmap, known as the "Endgame Plan."
Christensen said, "If the stablecoin wants to attract ordinary users, the correct name must include USD (U.S. dollar)." However, he noted that a new name would imply the token remains pegged to the U.S. dollar, which cannot be guaranteed. He called for a "complete brand overhaul, a new name, a new look, and an entirely different user acquisition strategy," calling this the "only way to control the narrative." He added that MakerDAO should position DAI as a yield-generating currency. In his view, DAI should be seen as the "safest, most reliable gamified cryptocurrency." Not all participants in the call agreed with Christensen’s arguments.Read original article
