TechFlow news — Polygon has announced that its Web3 identity service, Polygon ID, is now publicly available under an open-source license. Polygon has added four new tools to the Polygon ID identity infrastructure for SSI—Verifier SDK, Issuer Node, Wallet SDK, and Wallet App—helping developers integrate decentralized identity into their applications.
Polygon ID leverages the Iden3 protocol and Circom ZK toolkit, enabling anyone to become an issuer, verifier, or holder of Web3 identities. Off-chain data can now be used for trustless on-chain verification via verifiable credentials. Launch partners include The Sandbox, Collab.Land, and Fractal ID.
As previously reported in March 2022, Polygon launched its new user identification service, Polygon ID, to help verify user information while protecting their on-chain privacy. Polygon ID will be used for blockchain-related KYC checks required by certain regulated activities and custom applications. Polygon utilizes iden3 to power Polygon ID, a decentralized identity protocol that employs zero-knowledge proofs.Read more
