TechFlow reports that the NFT project Bitcoin Punks, built on Bitcoin's mainnet Ordinals protocol, has completed minting with a total of 10,000 NFTs. According to the official announcement, Bitcoin Punks is the first project to successfully upload the original Ethereum-based CryptoPunks to the Bitcoin blockchain using the Ordinals protocol.
The team stated: "To build this website, we are verifying the hash value of each image uploaded to Ordinals and comparing it against the original set of 10,000 Punk images. The links pointing to Bitcoin Punks represent the first inscriptions containing these hash values on Ordinals."
Earlier reports indicate that software engineer Casey Rodarmor created the NFT protocol "Ordinals" on Bitcoin's mainnet, though the crypto community remains divided over whether it benefits the Bitcoin ecosystem. It is reported that Ordinals "inscriptions" are currently consuming 50% of Bitcoin's block space.OriginalLink
