TechFlow news — According to security researcher Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is developing a purchase page for Twitter Coin. The webpage indicates that Twitter Coin purchases will be processed through payment provider Stripe. Twitter is also building a "Coins" menu item that will direct users to the purchase interface. On January 5, Wong tweeted that it appears Twitter rewards will be paid out in fiat currency, with a minimum payout threshold of $50 (meaning users must accumulate at least $50 before they can cash out).
Although Twitter Coin is unlikely to exist on a blockchain, Stripe could potentially add cryptocurrency as a payment option, which would allow users to purchase Twitter Coins with cryptocurrency in the future. Stripe has shown renewed interest in supporting crypto payments recently, and last year Twitter tested USDC payments via Stripe to help creators monetize content on its social media platform.
In addition, Wong stated in an interview, “I haven’t seen any clear indication that Twitter Coin is crypto.” Original link
