TechFlow news: The Ethereum Foundation has published a summary of research and development activities across various teams in 2022. The consensus research team successfully transitioned Ethereum's mainnet consensus mechanism to Proof-of-Stake (PoS) this year, while actively addressing urgent issues in the MEV domain. Next year, the team will focus on implementing withdrawal functionality, further refining EIP-4844 consensus layer specifications, and other post-merge research topics. The cryptography team contributed to the post-quantum signature schemes standardized by NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), and in the future may enhance scalability through improved aggregation techniques or alternative hardness assumptions.
Additionally, updates from Fe-lang, Formal Verification, Geth, JavaScript teams, Ipsilon, Portal, Privacy & Scaling Explorations, Protocol Support, and other teams are included. Source link
