TechFlow news, October 29 — BitKeep, a Web3 multi-chain wallet, sent an on-chain message addressing the hacker behind the recent attack on BitKeep Swap, urging the hacker and any imitating arbitrageurs to respond within 24 hours and return the stolen funds. With support from security firms and business partners, BitKeep has reportedly obtained key identity information about the hacker. Previously, the company issued an open letter proposing negotiations for fund recovery, offering 5% of the stolen assets as a bug bounty or refund incentive, and warning that failure to comply would result in legal action taken collectively with affected users. Earlier reports indicated that on October 18, BitKeep Swap was compromised in a cyberattack. BitKeep immediately announced full reimbursement for users and partnered with security firms such as SlowMist to implement security upgrades. Regarding compensation, all but a very small number of unclaimed cases have been completed. Security upgrades for BitKeep Swap are ongoing, and BNB Chain swap functionality has already been restored.
