TechFlow News — African crypto payments company Maplerad has raised $6 million in a funding round led by Valar Ventures, founded by Peter Thiel. Golden Palm Investments Corporation, Fintech Fund, Armyn Capital, Dunbar Capital, Strawhat Investment, Polymath Capital, Unpopular Ventures, Sean Mahsoul, and MyAsiaVC also participated. The funds will be used to expand the team and scale operations across African markets.
Founded in 2020, Maplerad launched its first product, Wirepay. The app enables international payments by offering cryptocurrency-based cross-border payment solutions. It currently supports multi-currency receiving, holding, and spending, creation of virtual and physical cards, and bill payments.Original link
