TechFlow news, according to an official announcement, the Ethereum liquid staking protocol Rocket Pool has been deployed to the Ethereum Ropsten testnet and completed the Redstone upgrade—Rocket Pool's first major upgrade since its mainnet launch—aligning the protocol with Ethereum's transition to PoS through The Merge. The Redstone upgrade introduces a priority fee distributor, a new reward system, the Smoothing Pool feature, and rETH transfer delays to prevent sandwich attacks. Notably, the new reward system makes RPL reward distribution for node operators significantly more flexible and efficient, enabling claim efficiency that is 8 times higher for one reward interval and up to 40 times higher for ten intervals compared to the previous system.
Previously, the Ethereum Ropsten testnet successfully completed The Merge in June. On August 26, Rocket Pool released version v1.6.0 of its updated Smart Node stack, designed specifically to prepare for Ethereum's Merge.
