TechFlow news, according to TechCrunch, metaverse identity platform Ready Player Me has raised $56 million in a funding round led by a16z. Participants include David Baszucki, co-founder of Roblox; Justin Kan, co-founder of Twitch; Sebastian Knutsson and Riccardo Zacconi, co-founders of King Games; entertainment and sports company Endeavour; Kevin Hart and Hartbeat Ventures.
Ready Player Me aims to enable users to establish virtual identities in the metaverse through NFTs and other virtual assets. Over 1,000 projects are currently using its platform. Media giant Warner Bros., fashion house Dior, and sportswear brand New Balance are all partnering with Ready Player Me to integrate into the metaverse in the future.
Previously, on December 28, 2021, metaverse platform Ready Player Me raised $13 million in a round led by Taavet+Sten, with participation from GitHub co-founder Tom Preston-Werner, Konvoy Ventures, Samsung Next Ventures, and Tiny VC. Original link
