TechFlow News, July 8 — MtGox has sent an email to creditors containing information about repayment procedures. Nobuaki Kobayashi, the court-appointed trustee for Mt. Gox, confirmed they are now "preparing for repayment" of BTC to account holders. Creditors may now verify their information and make selections regarding repayment preferences, such as whether they wish to receive a lump-sum early payout, repayment in Bitcoin, or cash. The document states that the transfer period will begin at the end of August and continue until full or partial repayments are completed. It also specifies that no new claims will be accepted once the transfer period begins. However, the document does not specify exact dates, figures, or amounts for the repayment plan. Several MtGox creditors believe the repayment process could start by the end of August this year, with completion expected by the first half of 2023. According to prior filings, as of September 2019, the trustee held 141,686 BTC and BCH.
