TechFlow news, March 30 — Anzu, a startup specializing in in-game advertising, has announced a $20 million funding round led by NBCUniversal and HTC, with participation from Sony, WPP, Riot Games co-founder Marc Merrill, and the Chicago Cubs. The funds will be used to collaborate with HTC on developing virtual reality products and expanding the company's team. HTC is currently building a metaverse platform called Viverse. Itamar Benedy, co-founder and CEO of Anzu, said the company aims to test new advertising formats for use within the metaverse.
