TechFlow news — Google has released Chrome 99.0.4844.84 for Windows, Mac, and Linux users to address a high-severity zero-day vulnerability actively exploited in the wild.
Several crypto KOLs, including Shenshu, urged users to urgently update their Chrome and Chromium-based browsers to the latest version to prevent potential attacks on Metamask wallets and avoid financial loss. In response, one user commented on Shenshu's Weibo post: "I saw your post about upgrading, but I still got hacked just now."
In addition, MetaMask's official Twitter account shared a Forbes report stating: 'Chrome has released a high-severity security update. They haven't disclosed the nature of it to us yet, but you should always apply any security updates.' The message continued: 'Please take time to update your browser immediately.' Twitter user CryptoNerdC commented that while this critical vulnerability is not directly related to the MetaMask wallet extension, updating Chrome is still strongly recommended due to its severity.
