TechFlow news — U.S. Patent and Trademark Office filings show that social media giant Meta (formerly Facebook) has recently filed eight trademark applications for its iconic blue double-ring logo, with six of them explicitly referencing cryptocurrency and blockchain-related technologies.
According to the applications, the trademark would cover goods and services including tokens, blockchain software, virtual currency exchanges, virtual currency wallets, and digital, cryptographic, and virtual currencies.
"These filings reflect the company's metaverse strategy—Meta clearly has significant plans for a virtual economy," said trademark attorney Mike Kondoudissaid.
