TechFlow news, according to two sources familiar with the matter who spoke to The Information, cryptocurrency project Worldcoin plans to raise $100 million at a token valuation of $3 billion. Participating institutions include a16z and Khosla Ventures, among others. The funds will be used to accelerate production of its spherical device. Worldcoin was founded by the former president of YC and aims to launch a widely accessible, zero-barrier cryptocurrency. It uses a specially developed spherical device that scans users' irises to create a unique personal identification code, ensuring each person’s digital currency is distinct. In June last year, the project previously raised $25 million in funding, with participation from a16z and others.
