TechFlow News — Layer2 network zkSync announced the launch of the zkSync 2.0 public testnet. The zkEVM has been released, marking the first EVM-compatible ZK Rollup on the Ethereum testnet. zkSync 2.0 supports the following features: native support for ECDSA signatures; Solidity 0.8.x compatibility; Web3 API; support for Ethereum cryptographic primitives; Hardhat plugin; and L1 → L2 smart contract message passing.
Notably, Connext, ZigZag, Orbiter, Composable, Hop Exchange, LayerZero, PolyNetwork, deBridge, and Nomad will enable fast, low-cost token transfers between zkSync 2.0 and other L1 and L2 protocols. Users will be able to use most Ethereum wallets to sign transactions and manage assets on zkSync 2.0, including MetaMask, Argent, Numbio, MyKey, and imToken.
