TechFlow News — On January 19, Opera browser announced the beta release of its new crypto project. This crypto browser aims to enhance user experience when browsing DApps, games, and metaverse platforms by providing direct access to Web3 services for Windows, Mac, and Android users.
The current Opera browser already features a login-free VPN and built-in ad and tracker blocker, contributing to its security. The new crypto browser will retain these security features while integrating direct access channels to decentralized exchanges, NFTs, and gaming DApps, as well as supporting Telegram and Twitter. Jorgen Arnesen, EVP of Mobile at Opera, stated that the project's main goal is to help bring cryptocurrencies and Web3 into the mainstream.
The built-in non-custodial wallet will initially support Ethereum in the beta version and will soon expand to include Polygon, Solana, Nervos, Celo, and domain name systems such as Unstoppable Domains, Handshake, and ENS. Integration with Polygon is expected to launch in Q1 2022. The wallet currently supports ERC-20 and ERC-721 standards and will add support for the ERC-1155 standard in Q1 2022.
