TechFlow News, January 18 — Regarding the previously reported incident where "Multichain discovered and successfully fixed a vulnerability affecting WETH and five other tokens," PeckShield has tweeted that the vulnerability appears to have already been exploited. They included the address holding the stolen funds (over 450 ETH, worth approximately $1.43 million): 0x4986e9017eA60e7AfCd10D844F85c80912C3863c.
This morning, cross-chain bridge Multichain announced that an important vulnerability affecting six tokens—WETH, PERI, OMT, WBNB, MATIC, and AVAX—had been identified and has now been successfully patched. All user assets are safe, and cross-chain transactions remain unaffected. However, users who previously authorized any of these six assets should promptly log in and revoke their approvals; otherwise, their assets may be at risk.
