TechFlow News — According to a company announcement, Square, the payments company founded by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, has changed its corporate entity name to "Block" to distinguish the corporate entity from its businesses. There will be no organizational changes—Square, Cash App, TIDAL, and TBD54566975 will continue operating under their existing brands. As part of the rebranding, Square Crypto, the company’s dedicated initiative to advance Bitcoin, will be renamed Spiral. The company stated the new name carries multiple meanings—blocks and neighborhoods, local businesses and communities gathering at block parties filled with music, blockchain, a piece of code, and obstacles to overcome.
