The notice stated: "After thorough assessment and considering the regulatory uncertainties surrounding virtual currencies and related products in various international markets, Alibaba will not only prohibit the sale of virtual currencies but also ban the sale of virtual currency mining machines. This includes, but is not limited to: 1. Hardware and software used to obtain virtual currencies, such as Bitcoin mining machines; 2. Tutorials, strategies, and software related to obtaining virtual currencies, such as mining tutorials." Alibaba also said it will shut down two sales categories related to mining: 1. Consumer Electronics > Blockchain Mining Machines > Blockchain Mining Machine Accessories; 2. Consumer Electronics > Blockchain Mining Machines > Blockchain Mining Machines.
